Many good teachers and presenters – and I would again say most – access external sources during their presentations. I know I do. There is only so much preparation that can be done, and the workshop setting always presents the unknown. Somehow, the answer comes: sometimes from my own sources, sometimes even from the questioner's.

I still do this practice occasionally, and teach others to do so if they wish, as well

During this three year period, most dialogs with Emissary were held in a group and were recorded. Some of the transcripts are included here, and also include material from other "sources" known as Red Bear and Orin. The transcripts included here are primary the result of sessions with a smaller group of friends.

All of this can take some time to explain.

It began as early as 1991 while working rather intensively with Inner Dialog process with my journal. The dialog is a question and answer process in which I pose a question and let the answer come ... rather like "automatic writing," but there are differences.

The words began to come so quickly that after only a few minutes my arm and hand were tired and aching. So I tried recording what I heard instead of writing it, and that worked pretty well, but had the disadvantage that I would have to listen to the tape, rather than reading. Much harder to archive. After several months, I moved on to something else.

In late 1998 I encountered Kay and Jan Shinol, who had been doing this work since 1981. Kay assisted me in rediscovering and further developing the "channeling" process. A small group formed, and I started producing rather interesting tapes of the sessions. Some were focused in small groups of from 1 to 3, others were larger groups up to 10.

On of the group, a great friend identified here as DB, began to transcribe the most interesting tapes. The results can be found in this section. While they are not the only sessions or transcripts, these are what I think of as the most interesting and otherwise seminal in my later work.
